'Production log - 6'

1) What progress did you make since your previous entry?

Since my previous entry the progress that I have made has been the completion of all voice overs as well as the completing the post production process has been finalised with the additional background music in order to add to my documentary mood. Once I finished all the necessary parts included in my documentary I had uploaded/exported my clip onto youtube where I had embedded it on my blog.
2) What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The logistical challenges that I had faced during this week was to do with my voice over as my presenter was not available I had overcome this through finding another replacement for the voice over this also worked efficiently.
3) What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical challenges that I had faced this week was to do with importing files for the voice recorder as I had uploaded them incorrectly I managed to overcome this situation through seeking assistance and re uploading them again.
4) What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
As this is my final my production log I will  upload all my essential documents relating to my factual TV assignment.

1) What progress did you make since your previous entry?
Since my previous entry I had completed filming additional cutaways to add into my documentary as this was one improvement that needed to be made. I also included all the necessary graphics within the documentary which is used to state the questions I had asked all my interviewees. Once I had finished all the necessary targets I had indented to achieve before the following week this gave me time to prepare a checklist with what had to be done by next week.
2) What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
During this week I didn't face any logistical challenges which was beneficial for me as this time efficient enabling me to focus on my editing in order to reach the completion deadline effectively.
3) What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical challenges that I had faced this week was to do with the 'live type' graphics software as I wasn't able to upload the graphics due to an error. However I managed to over come this situation by deleting the corrupt file and starting again which then worked effectively.
4) What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
The targets that I aim to have achieved before my next entry is to off completely finish off the last production stage of editing as this will then enable me to have the time of rendering and uploading the documentary on to youtube as this can be quite time consuming.

'Production log - 4'

1) What progress did you make since your previous entry?

Since my last blog entry for the production log I had managed to complete my documentary up to my half way point which is efficient for me to complete my editing then make all the necessary improvements essential for getting my target grade. I had re filmed all my needed shots that needed to be re-done as this had the footage seem for professional as I have no budget.

2) What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?                                                                                              The logistical challenges I had faces was based on the lighting when filming as this had slightly impacted on the footage as the sun had reflected on to the shot making it unclear to see as well as time consuming. I managed to overcome this challenge by re-taking the shot in another angle to prevent the light from affecting the shot.

3) What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

During this week the challenges I had faced was due to the tripod handle was jammed, however we managed to overcome this problem by resolving it through the use of  seeking help from a member of staff.

4) What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

My targets I aim to achieve by next week is that I finish of my overall project for my draft deadline as this will enable me to make relavent changes and improvements.

1) What progress did you make since your previous entry?
The progress that I have accomplished since my previous production log entry is the completion of filming has been done however there are a few shots that need to be re-done. I have also completed the introduction for my post production stage of my documentary enabling me to a good follow as I have included a range of cutaways.
2) What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
During this week I didn't face any logistical challenges which benefited me effectively as this saved time.
3) What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical challenges I had faced this week was based on saving my footage onto a scratch disk which didn't work however I managed to overcome this situation by re-starting the process from the begining in order for it to be working correctly.
4) What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
The targets that I hope to achieve before my next entry is to complete my documentary to a half way point as this enables me to have time to re-do shots as well as reaching the deadline efficiently.

'Production log - 2'

1) What progress did you make since your previous entry?
Since my previous entry I managed to complete a load of filming ranging from different sections from the narrative arc. Some of these sequences included of interviews, vox pop, opening and closing sequences and summaries too. I have also  booked in my final interview from  an expert which will take place this week.

2) What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
During this week we had faced logistical challenges from the un-level flooring (surface) which effected the steadiness of the camera. We managed to overcome this challenge through the use of finding objects to put underneath the tripod in order to make it steady and look professional throughout this process.

3) What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
During the production section of this week we didn't face any difficulties what would specifically impact any of the filming as which enabled us to film all my essential footage without any hassle.

4) What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?
The targets that I hope to achieve before my next entry is to start all my necessary graphics and the rest of the filming that will be done this week as this will enable me to move on to the editing stage more efficiently as I will be able to link the graphics the relevant  effects relating to each section of the narrative arc.

1) What progress did you make since your previous entry?
As this is my first production log entry I have managed to complete all of the key documentations relating to the pre-production stage as these range from call sheets, risk assessments, crew list and many more. These will enable me to perform all the possible requirements to the best of my ability as I am aware of what is needed to be done through each of the documents.

2) What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
During this week I did not face any logistical challenges as this was simply straight forward completing the all the necessary documents for pre-production section.

3) What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?
The technical challenges that I had faced were to do with the access to the internet as when uploading some documents to sky drive I was not always able to connect. However I managed to overcome this through seek some assistance once this had worked I was permitted to upload all my essential document for this stage.

The targets I plan to achieve before my next production log entry is to film some sequences locally which will include of the vox pop question (interviews) as well as the opening section of my documentary. This will enable me to get the first section of my documentary complete and out of the way. However once I film each stage I will need to re-view each footage in case of any shots need to be redone.

In this section of the assignment I will be outlining my documentary's aims, content, target audience, format, genre and style.
Aim:My documentary aim is to inform my target audience about the possibility of a zombie apocalypse occurring in the future. However this documentary is purely based on how realistic it actually is as a raise of interest for zombie has opened, this niche market will allow me to gain knowledge myself as well as my audience. During my production I will make sure all individuals are only shown within my documentary if I have their permission as their privacy will be respected.
Content:The content of my documentary I will be including a variety of object (fasts) and subjective (opinions) information throughout my documentary in order to ensure a balance to prevent my zombie show from being biased. The people who I will be interview are related to my topic in one way or another as this will range from vox pops, zombie experts and doctors/science consultants. I will be also giving relevant updates such as summaries to keep my target audience update so they are able to follow as this will enable me to attract and retain viewers. I will also make sure all content include in my documentary is truthfully and accurate.
Target Audience:My target audience based on my documentary is aimed to British individuals; both genders, all races who are aged from sixteen to twenty four years. I will try my best to encourage and interest my target audience through making it humorous, entertaining and educational. As my audience appeals to under 18's I will need to make sure all guideline are followed correctly to protect the audience aged 16-17 years. 

Format:The format of my documentary will have a mode which participatory. This will include a presenter who will be taking part during the production process of my documentary however they are not the main subject. My presenter will not influence any of the information told to my audience as they will be asking the essential questions which is based on my aim. Therefore will allow my target audience to create their own judgement on is shown to them as my presenter will state her opinion once the documentary has come to the end. Each situation will have a necessary purpose within my documentary due to it playing out similar to existing participatory mode in today's magazine shows.
Genre:

My genre will be a documentary as this will be a factual television programme. The structure will be set out as a documentary through realism, narrative and dramatisation included rather than an exact magazine show where games and competitions are commonly included. This will allow me to get straight to the point as my documentary will include a variety of interviews- subjective and objective views, videos and images.
Style:

Throughout my documentary will have a range of styles containing the; camera work, editing, graphics and sound. As I will be filming my documentary in different locations to make it interesting and engage my audience throughout as well as different camera movements, voice overs, green screens and back ground music. This will enable me to make it different and entertaining due to the dramatisation include. A similar documentary I will be trying to imitate will be something like vice documentaries which are mainly participatory and include of all realism, narrative and occasionally dramatisation.

Camera work- When filming during my production process I will make sure a variety of shots are used for example close up to view as individual facial expression so my audience are aware of how each subject is feeling as this will enable them to create their own impression of what they see. Another example will be mid shot as well as establishing shot in order to gain a sense of realism as the camera will be at eye level throughout.
Graphics- I will be using graphics during the post-production stage as a part of the editing this enable me to add another way of getting the information gathered across as well as used to state each sections of the documentary and credits at the end of the show.
Editing- The editing process enable me to include different effects and style to the overall documentary for the entertaining purpose of it as this will allow me to enagage them through a creative flair ranging from transitions to cuts, videos/images and many more.
Sound- The sounds used within my documentary will range from both digetic and non digetic sound such as music, voice over, speaking during interviews and other sounds that might be heard on the camera which adds realism to it overall.
